This was an arduos time-limited position working with adjuticated residential foster males ages 12 to 18 during which I wrote 15 specialized, highly detailed, student accessible differential interdisciplinary port packets (long passage curricula) specific to the port states the residential students would be sailing into, covering location-specific earth and life sciences, social sciences, technology, art, Climate Change and Global warming imapcts and responses, etc. Additionally, I wrote daily STEAM curricula and lesson plans; developed new instructional methods for the classrooms through daily direct instruction with the residential students, and researched and applied student resistance behavior engagement and channeling to improve meaning and connection making, motivation, investment, global literacy, and fundamental literacy skill, which we did in quite remarkable ways! This was a profound learning experience.

Wrote the writing curriculum for the literacy project, obtained USF and Prison Board approval of it and of my previously published Writers Guide, 2nd Edition: What Makes Writing Great? (2017) for use as the core instructional text, and taught fundamentals of effective writing at the detention facility for 50 male students ages 18-70. At the beginning, the majority of students were unable to write complete sentences. By the end, all composed one and two page stories that demonstrated technical and creative skill acquisition.

The mission was to create a complimentary press for the already established education company for the purpose of cost reduction via in-house production of a high quality, perfectly suited product which did not at the time exist: standards aligned, emergent reading literature at the various emergent reading levels. We developed a budget; created templates at every level; determined priority themes and markets; located, recruited, and taught young writers and illustrators with which to build our new publishing team; found environmentally friendly vendors, and negotiated mutually beneficial relationships. Today, ARC Press thrives as an internationally acclaimed peer-reviewed multi-million dollar press.

July 2024, Taught an average of 12 classes per week from June 2023 to June 2024 elementary through high school.
2024 June, completed and launched the Middle School interactive writing curriculum Part 1, Great Writing made Easy Words and Word Choice; completed and launched the 12th and 13th of 30 interactive college prep Academic Writing curriculum, and completed and launched two of 30 lessons in the college prep Creative Writing curriculum, and completed one finished interview cut.
2024 April, completed and launched one of the 14 NADA contract films, completed 12 ethnographic interview raw films for NADA, Dr. Khensu Carter, and UCLA, the first of which is NADA Protocol Now and Then.
